I wasn't miffed, I was just inviting him over. You got the wrong impression there. I haven't been attacked (successfully) in a while and wondered if he wanted to come over for tea. My troops need the exercise.

I guess I'd question whether you should be using the troop count from before the ship damage is calculated or after. If the rng decided that all the attacking transports were destroyed, does it still make sense that land gets taken? Otoh, if you use the after count, you might want to increase the land modifier from 0.05 to something bigger. And that could make the land taken swing a lot more depending on the rng rolls for attack vs defense. Would that be a bad thing or a good thing?

Major, your base defense is too strong. Makes a lot more sense for me to hit somebody else and just transfer their land to you when you hit me Hopefully, I can slow that transfer rate down a little, though. :-)

I'm just glad that people are finally using defences more. It makes this a bit more interesting.

What I'd really love is the old Intel system that used to be around. Secret police buildings were fun.

Oh, and btw, I got ~600 renown for that 125 land - I consider that a decent, bordering on generous even, payment. So I'm not unhappy (although again, that's totally dependent on the rng - I was a bit lucky on that score). Was just wondering about the math ...
renown is only given when ships are totally destroyed? Crippled or other levels don't generate renown?

Totally destroyed from what I've seen. Yeah RIP poor Whitewater. That's the second bloody McCawley I've lost this week.

The whole base defense/ attack system is up for a rewrite at some point. It'll include the ability to destroy defenses.

And yes, renown is only gained for actual kills.

Any news or an ETA on when that defence update is going to land? It would be nice to nor be losing 200+ land in a single attack. Especially when it's a McCawley swarm that can somehow damage carriers while taking minimal losses themselves.

No eta for it, though you'll be pleased to know that it's going to be the next major update and that I've mostly figured out how it's going to work.

Personal life has been extra nutty lately. Haven't forgotten about sea powers at all though.

I wouldn't have had to make 28 McCawley's if you didn't make so much defense... Also the only times they've been up against your carriers they've had my other ships with them.

I hit other people some times. There's only 3 people in my range atm... But I'm fairly certain next to no one has been taking land off you in a long time, so I don't REALLY feel that bad. And your ships are almost never home, so I'm assuming you're hitting other people.
